Hey Dianne - We are loving the heat!  As far as apps go, I really don't use them much as I don't own an iPhone or tablet.  I aim to get one however (thinking xmas)!  I just used the 'Star Walk' app in Death Valley and it was amazing.  Emily loved it.  What an amazing tool for a science educator and students.  I have not explored the world of educational apps, unless you consider using sites like Facebook on the computer an app.  - but I don't think that counts.  Do you have an iPhone?  tablet?  I can't wait to return to share lots of ideas and info.
