GCI SchoolAccess is excited to present a wonderful opportunity to all Alaska schools to participate in the KC3 Contest!

Everyone has a story to tell.

The Kids Creating Community Content contest has begun!  KC3 is an exciting standards-based project that taps into the creative nature of students as they look at their community with new eyes and explore ways to share their findings with others.  Using various technologies and videoconferencing, students work in groups to research, create, and present their findings to the rest of the world.

This year’s crop of student created content programming includes schools from Hawaii to West Texas, presenting on topics from water harvesting to meteorology. These schools will be presenting throughout February and March.  Would you like your students to participate in this fun and exciting program?  By participating as an audience site, your students will have the opportunity to experience these presentations as if they were right there, through the magic of interactive videoconferencing.  Not only is this a unique learning opportunity, but it is also a fun way for students to be a part of this creative and collaborative process.

For your school to be considered as an audience site you’ll need to have H.323 videoconferencing equipment and complete an equipment test.  Participation as audience site is on a first-come, first-serve basis!  Visit the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration and sign up now!

This looks like a really cool project.  I looked over the website for The Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration and it is really informative and I can see how it would be really helpful.

This seems like a really effective way to have students from far away places working with one another and sharing their creative word.  It reminds me of the video where the kids use itube to show each other what they can do on their unicycles and by doing so create an online community that nurtures and challenges their hobby.

Very cool and than you for sharing this with us.
